1. Introduction Humans communicate through language. Because there are so many different languages, however, people around the world have a difficult time understanding one another. Some people have wished for a universal international language that speakers all over the world could understand (Kispert, 2004). Because of this reason English is considered as a universal language. It is generally accepted that English is one of the world most useful language. More over English is a widely used around the world. It is the most common foreign language. English has a strong influence. English language would build cultural and economic bonds. It would also create better feelings among countries (Kispert, 2004). In this 21 century, it is accepted that English is used more than the past. Five thousand newspapers more than half of the newspapers published in the world published in English (Ahmad, n.d.). Nowadays English has an important role in our daily life. It can not be denied and ignored because English is used everyday. More over English has a great influence in every field than the past. English has been a major role in medicine, business, education, transportation, travelling, politics, science and entertainment (the history of English, n.d.). It is predicted that by 2050, half the world will use English more in business, politics and diplomacy (A
Finally, Tan used repetition throughout her essay to clearly reinforce her ideas as she repeats the phrase “broken English” and “fracture English” as well as “limited English” (Tan651). Tan uses these parallel phrases to clearly outline her ideas and create an effective connection among her readers. Also she clarify that her mother’s English is perfectly clear, but the only problem is her mother tongue or accent that makes her English harder for other to clearly understand. Tan repeats the “broken English” phrases in many sentences all over her essay, which set the pattern, and further reputation of this phrase emphasizes the pattern and increase the rhetorical effect of this piece. For instance, the author argues that, at times, even American English differs at some point from British English. Not that they are not speaking the correct language, but it differs in meaning, which implies that no one can claim to be perfect or articulate in one language, particularly if it is widely shared, like English. Therefore, the author of this text highlights that people should use language to suit their needs. For instance, the language should be inclusive, even if it is broken English, as long as it meets the required meaning or purpose. Thus, it brings out that the primary function of language is communication, and the language was chosen to fit the context in which it has to be applied.
After reading Chapter 3 in our textbook, it brought light to some thoughts I have already been pondering as a future social worker. The text talks about the importance of a social workers language and communication. First, the text says that communication is essential between the social worker and client to maintain a positive relationship. I can’t stress enough to myself how important that is to remember. I see so much miscommunication and lack of communication in the world today, that it frustrates me.
This chapter really emphasizes on how language is the bedrock of our relation with people. It is really all around us and we might not really notice how important it is to us. We use it all the time no matter what language we speak. We need it to communicate with people because we are all social
Considering one’s language mastery, appropriate language use brings social benefits as possessing good language is highly important in society as it controls people’s understanding of each other. Throughout this world’s history, influential corporations, groups, and even ordinary
understand that my upbringing is different from my students because many of them are raised with different cultural beliefs. I must also hold my students from a different background to the same esteem and expectation as I would have for students from my background.
In order to be culturally competent it is important to recognize your history and how it may shapes your beliefs about other cultures. Sometimes you may have have biases that you are oblivious to.
My favorite subject has always been english, I was never a fan of math, especially when it came to high school and college. My english teachers in high school did not helped me at all. They never taught us how to write a thesis, how to organize our ideas and how to improve our vocabulary. All the teachers would do is assigned a book to read and write a paper on what it was about. We never got the chance to write about a topic we were interested in or talk about our opinions on a certain topic.

If you learn something new that is good you should teach it to someone else. If you learn to show respect to your teachers, you should teach that to your friend so that they will know to show respect.

Global relations and communication through the United Nations along with the existence of 70 English-speaking countries, has been the key drivers of English becoming the most widely used language of communication. This “mainstream” English is the accepted language and has resulted in the complex issue of what should be considered language and why when people assimilate it into their culture, it is viewed as “broken”. The difficulties that I have with reading and writing in English are for reading, I should understand all the tasks and get the main meaning. It is hard for me to do this. Because sometimes I do not know a word, clause, or gerund mean. In addition, I confuse the tasks that I learned about what the tasks mentioned. For writing, I am also confused to use the word choice, and I had some mistakes about it.
From the moment a child arrives to this world is exposed to an endless of signals and stimulations that the brain begins to assimilate. Lights, colors and sounds which will be a part of the new born life until his death. One of the first stimuli received by the baby is the voice from the parents. These voices are translated into sounds by the phonological system, some months later into meanings then complete words and eventually, some years later, into sentences. These four steps could summarize the acquisition of the language which even not being taught it is one of the longest and most laborious processes for the child.

We can’t deny that English has become an international language for communication between all mankind , it is the common language between most of the countries , English is a global language which is spoken as a native language and a second language in most of the countries , and we noticed that people who use English as a second language are way more than people who speak it as a native language , it is taught in every country in this world , it is using as a medium language of understanding between the teacher and the learner , you can see it in banks , supermarkets , in road signs and in international web pages, it is the language that you see and hear every day, so speaking English become a must , also we can’t ignore the fact that English is the language of global communication at medical , tourism , trade and other elements of language use , So English is so important in our various lives aspects. So in this essay I am going to discuss the reasons of how English become a global language and is it a good or bad thing? and what is the advantages and did advantages of spreading of English?
There is a lot of reasons that helped to make English a global language and one of the most important reasons is policy , the west colonization for the countries had helped English to spread and distribute by imposing the language and the west culture on the colony countries , so we can say it is all because of the strength that the west had on the world
