In life, many events or situations influence the way one feels or the decisions one makes. Basically, one goes through certain events in life that have such a provocative and stimulating impact they totally change the life of an individual. For me, the life-changing event happened when I moved to America for almost 3 years. However, moving to America was a life-changing moment for me because of cultural differences, religious differences, and having no friends. When I was first told about moving to America, I was very worried and introspective because of the many cultural differences between USA and the UAE. The idea was quite ambiguous at first, and it stayed like that even after being in America for a week. All I knew about the American society was that people did not like being with other, and neighbors are like strangers who do not know anything about the other person, which made me feel apprehensive. However, the people welcomed us with big and warm smiles, and they very nice to us. Another thing is the language barrier. Initially, for us as Muslims, living in America was totally difficult. We had to be cautious of the food we ate as most of their food contains ingredients that are forbidden to Muslims, so we always chose vegetarian food, which was the safest option.
