The Declaration of Independence is a document that shows are the fundamental ideas of our nation, that all men are created equal, and possess and inherit these natural rights. This shows that all this Declaration is for the sovereign of the people. These should be necessary civil rights that have been granted to us since birth. All citizens should be treated equally and fairly. They are mostly protected by Popular Sovereignty and Limited Government.
What is unalienable cannot be taken away and or denied. This is important because every society of man is incompatible with their own unalienable rights of the sovereignty, and self-government which states that every independent state must pass that everyone has the right to pursuit their own happiness

Our Founding Father protected these principles so we as a whole can be free and have our natural rights that were given to us at birth. Our Founders Fathers allowed the people to make government decisions, on behalf of the people. It applies to many things done today as a society. For an example, voting for a president is not a decision one person makes, but as a whole union (United States) each individual may vote. Therefore Popular Sovereignty is defined as "a doctrine in political theory that government is created by and subject to the will of the people", this simply means that the citizens of the country are in charge of the government and how it is run.
