Educational Inequality between U.S. and Ukrainian Schools
The education systems in the United States and Ukraine reflect the social and economic context of each country and face significant problems of inequality. While both educational systems strive to provide a quality education for all students, there are significant differences in the access to resources, learning levels, and opportunities available to students in each country.
In the U.S., inequality in the education system is often related to school funding. For the most part, American schools are funded locally, based on property taxes. As a result, schools in wealthy areas receive significantly more funding than schools in poorer areas. This creates disparities in access to resources such as quality textbooks, the latest equipment, computers, and opportunities for extracurricular activities. Students from poor neighborhoods tend to have fewer opportunities to succeed and receive a quality education.

Schools in Ukraine often follow the traditional model of education based on lectures and classes, in which students are forced to passively listen and memorize material. Also, Ukrainian education is characterized by a large amount of homework. As silly as it may sound, in Ukraine very often everything operates on the principle of whether the teacher likes you or not. Grades can be lowered simply because the teacher does not like you enough. If you are one of the children whom the teacher does not like, then you can expect to have the lowest grades in class until graduation. There are, of course, teachers who assess objectively, based on knowledge, but this is a younger generation of teachers. In the U.S., teachers use more interactive teaching methods, including discussion and collaborative work, which helps students participate more actively in the learning process and evaluate it
