As the result of the fall of man, the heart is often tempted astray towards sin. Unfortunately, for some, these actual sins lead towards a life of dysfunction and law breaking. Therefore, God commands for humanity to be held accountable for the act of breaking the law through the Criminal Justice System. While the field of the Criminal Justice encompasses many moving parts all working towards justice and public safety, my heart has been lead towards serving in the Juvenile Justice System. As humanity is made in the image of God, as a juvenile corrections counselor, I will take on the armor of God to see God’s perfect design in the at-risk youth and juvenile delinquents. Often times, the pull of delinquency and dysfunction seems like the only way of life for them as their hearts have become hardened. “Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15, English Standard Version). Therefore, a juvenile corrections counselor will have to work harder to make moral life look promising through the discipline of rehabilitation and the development of reintegration plans. “Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need” (Ephesians 4:28, English Standard Version). The new life for juvenile delinquents is one in which they see and feel the forgiveness of God so that they can push away their delinquent tendencies. Juvenile corrections counselors must ,“put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11, English Standard Version). The success of redeeming juvenile delinquents away from the scheming of the devil is to provide them with tools and knowledge so that they can strive to see their perfect design and work towards the purpose God has for
