Augusta, Georgia Richmond County Sheriff Department
The sheriff department in Augusta, Ga. is a very “diverse organization of professional men and women, as well as the largest full-service Sheriff's Office in Georgia” (“Richmond County Sheriff”). They are in charge of covering over 327 square miles, busy interstate highways, and three municipalities. They also work with other LEOs to defend the property and the lives of each citizen. They also use a form of community policing as a way of better comprehension the citizens need by creating a way to gather information, which can create a level of security that can improve the attribute of life in Augusta, Ga. Richmond County Sheriff Dept.
Roles and Responsibility
The Sheriff of Augusta, Ga. duty is to defend property and life, by up keeping the order and peace, and providing law enforcement services. They also represent all the residents and belief in equivalent treatment under the law. They will “enforce the law impartially, without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or situation in life, and shall be diligent in protecting all citizens in the lawful exercise of their civil rights” (‘Sheriff, n.d., para. 2). Also, the Sheriffs have primary responsibilities to: Enforce Federal, State and Local laws; Court Services; House inmates; Investigate Crimes; and Maintain peace and order.

The only way that can be fulfill is to make sure that communication is open and clear, that hiring and promotion requirements are open for all internal deputies, and to have respect for the new authority to keep up morale, and to cut down on the confusion, and despite our dislike for change.
