The NCAA has been around for more than a 100 years. They have developed and added rules to make it safer for athletes to compete over the years. NCAA uses sanctions to control school programs and their players. Academic sanctions cause schools to go deep into their players grades and eligibility with some school changing grades, causing some college athletes ineligible to play. Moreover, college sports have drug testing, which allows players that use drugs, even for medication not allowed to play and ruled ineligible. NCAA problems have been around for as long as the NCAA has. College athletes do not get the education the government claims they pay for. College athletes have constant practice throughout the day, some even more than one. They travel throughout the US to other colleges, barely having time to make up work or go to class. They sacrifice their identity and their personalities to meet their college coach expectations to obtain a college scholarship. NCAA gives college athletes money for everything they need that is on college campuses, but what about the necessities outside of the campus. College athletes need money for everyday things, just like every other college student who work outside of college to maintain their everyday spending. That is why the NCAA should allow college athletes to take endorsement deals. Endorsement deals allow other companies to use someone name and fame to profit by making gear and apparels, just like the NCAA does. Nevertheless, the NCAA rules any college athlete taking any endorsement deals without their knowledge ruled ineligible. College athletes earn schools and coaches millions of dollars; however, college athlete can’t use their fame to earn money for themselves.
