Elf is a movie released in 2003 directed by Jon Favreau and written by David Berenbaum. Elf takes place in the early 2000’s in which buddy played by Will ferrell is an adult human that was raised by elves. He is made aware that he is human rather than elf and travels to New York City to find his birth parents. Walter Hobbs played by James Caan, is reunited to the son he didn't know that he had and is on the naughty list. Buddy must assimilate to New York City and human culture while trying to forage a relationship with his father that does not include putting maple syrup on their spaghetti.

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas begins in Whoville only hours before the Cheermeister Festival. Cindy Lou is questioning the materialism that surrounds Christmas, so she nominates the Grinch as this year's Cheermeister to show that Christmas is about loving one another. She convinces the Grinch to come down from his cave and join the celebration, however, the mayor shames the Grinch in front of the entire town. This causes the Grinch to destroy the Cheermeister Festival in a fit of anger. He schemes to ruin the rest Christmas by stealing all the decorations and presents in every house in Whoville.
The theme of the supernatural is a big part to the story of A Christmas Carol and therefore is always reoccurring in many variations mostly in the form of ghosts or spirits coming to communicate with the protagonist, Ebenezer Scrooge. The theme of the supernatural is important as during the 19th century, religion was a principle factor in the lives of most people and the topic of ghosts, ghouls and spirits was generally frowned upon so this creates a significant impact on the reader. During the 1st Stave of A Christmas Carol, it is explained to the reader that the door knocker at the front door to his house has morphed to resemble the face of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. This is an important occurrence of the theme of supernatural as it is told to the reader at the very beginning of the novella that “Marley was dead”. This instils to reader the possibility of Scrooge hallucinating.

When reading "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" for the first time as a child, I never suspected there to be any underlying messages in the text. However, after a thorough analysis of literary criticism on this children's book, I was able to conclude that this book suggests Marxist criticism. It's clear throughout the story that the Whos are a society of people without class structure. The only exception is the Grinch himself who lives north of Whoville, living in seclusion from their classless society. The fact that the Grinch is habitually ostracized insinuates that he may be of the lower class than the Whos. It is quite obvious that the Grinch hates Christmas, but there is a possibility that he only hates it because he realizes the materialistic
People can change in many ways; it just takes some time for them to realize. This is a story about a man who finds his way to becoming a better person. There is a grumpy old miser named Scrooge. He is very unapproachable and is self-centered. Soon 3 ghosts came to visit him.
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas The Grinch who stole Christmas is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books and one of my favorite Christmas movies. I found 3 things similar to one another in the book and the movie which had the Grinch who hated Christmas, the Who’s who loved Christmas, and the Grinch stole all of the presents and food. One identical thing I found in the movie and book was that the Grinch hated Christmas. If they didn’t put the Grinch’s hate for Christmas in both the book and, he would have no reason to steal Christmas and it wouldn’t have been a very good movie.
