George has many strengths, however probably his greatest strength is his brain. He always knows what to say and what not to say, however Lennie doesn’t so George always finds himself having to help Lennie out of a situation. George tries to stay on everybody's good side as to keep Lennie and him out of trouble. ” In a panic, Lennie looked at George for help. “He can do anything you tell him,” said George.”
It would be useful to look at the economic feel during the 1920-1960’s to gain perspective on the culture in the American Catholic schools. Looking at those years and imagining the economic effects of World War I, the Great Depression, and even World War II would be important. Catholic schools provided a place for children to learn and grow despite of what was going on around them during those times. Families could in some cases, send their children to school for free or almost nothing.
In the article “10 qualities of a good teacher,” Southern New Hampshire University, a private, nonprofit, fully accredited institution university says, “Some qualities of a good teacher include skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, and patience. Other characteristics of effective teaching include an engaging classroom presence, value in real-world learning, exchange of best practices, and a lifelong love of learning (Gagnon, 2019).” Being experienced in communicating with people comes with multiple benefits. Having that specific quality can assist in establishing relationships, which is important when deciding to teach. Additionally, being able to communicate well can help with employment.
It is not sufficient to be Catholic. The privilege of being Catholic carries with it the responsibility of living a Catholic life, and modeling what it means to be Catholic by finding God in all students and in all situations, and adhering to the mission of the school. This is no small task, as the mission of the Catholic school speaks to the faith formation of all students, the spiritual growth of faculty and staff, the development of community as well as providing for the academic growth of all
Why are you interested in administration of a Catholic school program? I believe every child is a gift from God and I love to see them share their gifts with others. Being a principal gives me the opportunity to share my passion in education with more students, teachers, and families. What are the unique attributes of Catholic education?
Additionally, educators must encourage students to develop relationships with other Christians in their community, fostering a sense of community and encouraging them to work together toward spiritual growth and
In Catholic Social Teaching the term ‘preferential option for the poor’ means that in society one has to keep the poor in mind when it comes to the distribution of the goods as they should be distributed to everyone in an equal manner. In fact Gaudium et Spes, a document found in the Second Vatican Council, states that God did not have the intention of excluding anyone during Creation: ‘God intended the earth with everything contained in it for the use of all human beings and people. Thus, under the leadership of justice and in the company of charity, created goods should be in abundance for all in like manner.’’ Goods we see around us are gifts for all humanity therefore it is only reasonable that these goods are to be used by everyone equally.
As a Christian and Catholic, I believe that the Gospel values are important in helping pupils realise their full Christian potential. I would seek to support the Catholic mission and ethos of Holy Family Catholic High School inspired by the spirit of God. I have completed a BA: (Honours) Degree (1st Class), in Sport Coaching (July 2016) and I will finish a PGCE (Secondary PE: 11- 19) with QTS in July 2017. I believe I have skills, knowledge and experience needed to fulfil the role of Teacher of Boys’ PE at your school.
All the students and teachers are supportive and caring. My Catholic education means the best education. If I wasn 't at a Catholic school Improbably wouldn’t be the person I am today. My Catholic education is the best you can ask for. I grow in knowledge and in faith everyday because of my Catholic education.
Ethos refers to the values and beliefs of the school and the atmosphere people feel when they walk into the school grounds or buildings. The type of school it is and the pupils and staff who are there are who effect and build up the ethos. If the attitudes of both teachers and pupils are optimistic and positive, then the atmosphere felt in the school will be positive which will then result in people enjoying being there and wanting to be there. The schools mission is the intention of the school.
A successful principal will lead with God in mind and promote Catholic identity always. In a Catholic school, academic curriculum should be Christ centered and prepare young minds to transform the world by living out their
They take the time to know their students and know them well. They appreciate what attributes to each child’s story and take ownership of their role in the child’s life for that school year. I feel that I have the skills and attributes of an outstanding teacher because of the pride I take in the love and support I show my students and families. I know teachers have the power to make a lasting difference and I start every year with that mindset.
Student Engagement A good teacher should know how to engage students in learning activities and be able to respond to diverse students needs in the classroom. The classroom observations I have seen these past week has shown me examples of good teachers. In all the classes I observed the students sat quietly and were always ready to raise their hands and answer questions. In my kindergarten class all the students were really into their assignments and wanted approval of their work from their teacher.
An outstanding teacher is made up of 5 main things. They are respectful and in turn respected, goal-driven, have strong classroom management, have an inner drive to learn more and teach better, and have a love for each and every student. Each and every day a teacher must show the students they teach respect. If a student respects you, they will work just that bit hard for you. It makes a difference.
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
