When selecting a manager position, it is vital to evaluate the leadership skills, credentials, and past experiences. A restaurant business is one that is fast paced and will need a manager who will be able apply leadership qualities to keep a good relationship with employees and customers. This paper will use the knowledge acquired in organizational theory and behavior in selecting the right manager for the restaurant.

The restaurant being a hands-on business will require someone who is able to retain its customers. In this case, the organization should ensure that they select someone who interacts well with customers and will be able to oversee services provided to them. This will, in turn, motivate customers to return. The new manager can also make sure he or she changes the way food packaging is done.
The manager should be someone who has a strong sense of empathy and can easily adapt. The person should be someone who can lead people to follow them instead of being a boss. The manager should use empathy and social skills to build a team and ensure that they adapt quickly to changing business situations and being supportive of team members. Due to the high rate of employee turnover, the manager should be someone who has respect for employees, listens to them, and balances employee work and life (Heathfield, 2017).
For such a position, the person should be someone who can continually improve their subordinates and make sure they are energized (Sundheim, 2014). Employee performance evaluation should be done and their loopholes improved upon via training. The person should be one who can trigger the spirit of hard work in their employees by being hard-working themselves so as to encourage employees to follow their
