The activity was designed to assess ourselves on what type of approach do we have on negotiation. It can also be used to determine areas that could be further improved to enhance oue negotiation skills. The INN negotiation questionnaire was composed of 10 questions pertaining to evaluate our negotiation strategy.

Before answering the INN Negotiation Skills questionnaire, I also answered the other negotiation skills questionnaire which helped me discover my approach and categorized it into 5 different styles; Competing, Avoiding, Collaborating, Accommodating, and Compromising. Based on that questionnaire, I scored moderate to low on Avoiding and Collaborating styles. Meanwhile, I scored high on Accommodating style. This is consistent with …show more content…

This is also consistent with my answers on questions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8. I want to understand what my clients what as well as the goal of the other party in the negotiation to be able to create viable options that could work for both sides. I scored moderate to high because as much as I want to know all the details related to the problem and make necessary preparations, I am also willing to talk it out with the other party and not just insist on a solution that will greatly benefit my side but would be a great loss to the other party. This view is reflected on my scores as well since I got a moderate to high rating on Compromising style. Consistently, my answers for questions 6 and 10 reflects this. I am willing to give up on some points as long as the other party is also willing to give up on some of their points and I tend to stop negotiating when there is already a big gap between the two parties. For me, the point of negotiation is to reach a compromise and if the two parties are not willing to give up on some points or the two parties are too stuck in trying to get their own points across without listening to the other side then negotiation should just be terminated so as not to waste
