Gemini team was founded January this year. We are a group of students who are interested in politics, history, international relations and history. We hear human rights experts, historians, and advocates, as well as take part in hands-on activities, discussions, and field trips. We do this so as to inspire our fellow students to have a positive impact on the world. Our mission statement is to provide in-depth human rights education for local high school students and teachers. Whether it is through understanding the history of the holocaust, contemporary genocide, or human rights issues, our goal is to broaden and deepen the knowledge base of students, so that they can make a difference in their communities, nation, and the world. This style could lead to making peace and letting others have their way and moving forward, it could not work well with our team because it could lead to the accommodator feeling resentment towards the other party. STANDING YOUR GROUND: This technique requires courage but we saw it as inconsiderate. This could obviously lead to competing with each other in a team and each team member could do anything to ensure they win and their point is put across. The truth is this approach offers short-term rewards, but in the long term, our team could have suffered. COMPROMISING: This is a big step towards conflict resolution. This technique involves courage and when we were looking for a common ground. We could have discussed larger points and let go of the smaller points; this style expedites the resolution process. But this style was unfit for us because the person compromising might use passive-aggressive tactics to mislead the team.
