A hero shows bravery in the most stressful situations. In the mythical novel, “The Adventures of Ulysses,” by Bernard Evslin, Ulysses is the king of Ithaca who is trying to get back home after being set back 10 years from his journey by Poseidon. Ulysses and his crew battle through cyclopes, sirens, and gods. Ulysses’ actions in the novel reveal that he is a hero. Ulysses shows he is a hero when his men don't come back after climbing the tree, when the ships pass by the sirens, and when the cyclopes trap his men. Upon arriving on the island, the men were drawn to the smell of goats roasting. This put them into a hurry leading them into the cyclops’ cave the smell was coming from.
