There are many ways to combat obesity, with the benefits of exercising topping the list. You might wonder why it is that obesity seems to be a major problem faced by so many in the United States. There is statistical evidence from studies that the United States leads the charge in the obesity race. The conclusion is a staggering 64 percent of women and an even higher percentage of men coming in at 72 percent are clinically obese. The statistics can prove disastrous for any of these groups.

The Internet has brought us the ability to perform online banking and to virtually shop till we drop online. Technology has evolved so much that we barely need to even venture outside of our homes. What's happening to our society that few people are informed of the benefits of exercising and the importance of health? We are technologically advanced in every way, but are rarely told of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. With easy access to an endless array of $1.00 menu's, we demand food that is fast and cheap because we work long and hard. It's not really our fault if we aren't aware of better options and alternatives, is it?

Our country is suffering from the negative affects that excess baggage has on our hips and thighs. We have lower energy, sleep problems, diabetes, and the list goes on and on. Thankfully, many of us have come to the conclusion that we must take exercising seriously in order to get obesity under control once and for all. We have to eat smarter and move our bodies
