Many people think games shouldn’t be a sport mainly because they don't use physical exertion but other than that video games are very similar to sports because they use strategy and they also use muscle memory (Mesmerizing the keyboard). And unlike soccer and basketball they are not focused around one objective and there's a wide variety of taste in video games. Video games also help make connections with people all over the world, like people in canada and turkey.
One of the reasons video games should be a sport is because they may not use physical exertion but it requires just as much skill and mental focus. Gaming is also incredibly competitive. Also gaming takes much more mental prowess than say chess or monopoly. Again if chess is a sport because it uses strategy and uses no to little physical exertion. Then video games should also be a sport, Because chess is one and it uses less mental power and thought than video games.
