My guiding question for the creativity versus consuming essay will be, “Where does creativity in people come from?” I am choosing this prompt for three reasons. The first reason being that I am interested in the idea of seeing where creativity comes from. I’m interested in exploring the science behind what makes an individual creative, and showing truth from myth in that aspect. The second being that I feel there is a large audience that this question appeals to. I feel many people find it hard to grasp the idea of creativity as it isn’t a tangible thing it’s just an idea. The third reason I am choosing this prompt is I feel I will have many points I can make and this means more material I can use in my paper. One possible audience could be people like me, interested in learning where their creativity comes from. The second possible audience could be psychologists or people in interested fields that are interested in the study of human thought. The third possible audience could be artists because if they learn where their creativity comes from they might be able to grow in their creativity even more. My intended audience for this paper will probably fall more into the first group of just people interested in learning where their creativity comes from. My intended audience will influence my writing in two ways. The first being that keeping my audience in mind will keep me focused on making my essay a more explanatory piece rather than an argumentative one. This is because I will simply explore the possibilities of where creativity comes from and back them up with sources to try to inform my audience. The second way is by focusing on writing to my audience I will stick to the guiding question of my essay and not tangent of on some other point of creativity, but stay on the point of where it comes
