Created in 1981, this study has several implications for human addicts. It demonstrates the importance of support and a strong community around the addict during their treatment process. If placed at the Pioneer Treatment Center, Mikayla would be able to have the support of myself, my husband and our friends as she continues to focus on her sobriety. She would be able to work on having a positive, useful life, while gaining the support of loved ones as she finishes out court-ordered rehab and job training. I run a content business from home, so I would be able to visit as often or as little as the treatment center

In numerous instances, today’s world values addictions over family. Every day, the news highlights stories where addiction overpowers. For instance, a few weeks ago, Columbus, had a couple who overdosed on heroin with their grandchild in the backseat. Hence why “Under The Influence” by Scott Russell Sanders is extremely relevant. Sanders asserted his experience with his dad, who was an alcoholic.
However, unfortunately, without counseling or coaching most partners, children, family members and friends believe they are responsible for or cause another person's addiction and addictive behavior; thus avoiding the issue of their own enabling
According to Horne (2002) intervention and planning therapy are closely connected. The primary purpose of the initial interventions and the practices chosen must be contingent upon the nature of the issue being presented as well as the physiotherapist security with a specific method, for example, “cognitive, group, and behavioral rehabilitation” (para. 1). Treatment planning and interventions relate to solving substance abuse issues and the problem that will be identified during the physiotherapist process. And, if intervention is determined, the mission is to effectively resolve the difficulties and work to seek modification for the current issues. There are various phases of presenting problems which can be labelled in terms of spousal problems, close relative issues, as well as extended-family difficulties wherein each stage requires its own exclusive therapy treatment.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Debbie Reed January 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm. Debbie Reed is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She believes that there are many approaches to solving daily issues. Christian counseling recognizes that each person has a spiritual dimensions with questions about our world and our circumstances that we do not understand and would like to explore further. She says that Christian counseling focuses on providing people, families and couples with techniques to overcome their difficulties.
Drug abuse is the habitual or excessive use of a psychoactive substance (Substance abuse, n.d.). This usually leads to dependence on the substance resulting in damage to the health and functionality of the addict. There are a number of models that have proven useful for interventions for drug abuse. One such tactic is the use of the systemic family model. This model emphasizes the role of both the addict and his/her family in helping the addict quit using drugs.
Approaches such as integrative problem-solving therapy (considers object relations and problem solving) and narrative solutions therapy (draws from “theoretical assumptions found in narrative approaches”) are a few considerations when merging the theories (Yarhouse and Sells, 2017, p. 289). According to the text, there are six meta-frameworks: “sequences, organization, culture, gender, development, and internal family systems” (Yarhouse and Sells, 2017, p. 290). These meta-frameworks suggest that all family therapy work under the assumption that one or more of these are a point of concern for the family and will need to be addressed in treatment. Three tenants that first generation family therapy forms treatment plans around regardless of faith are family dysfunction, family functioning and suggested road map (Yarhouse and Sells, 2017). According to the text, there are ample models that can be applied to these tenants such as Bowenian, strategic and structural, and just as these models can be applied as needed, Christian family therapy can apply Biblical tenants and models as needed (Yarhouse and Sells, 2017).

Strategic Family Therapy seems to me that fits the Iranian population the best based my personal knowledge of this culture. After much research I came cross how there is so little research on this community with any particular therapy that the system could benefit from. Based on the study of Malakuti, K. (2012) they examined; “the immigration experience of Iranian Jews that moved to the U.S. before, during, or after the Iranian revolution, and its relationship to anxiety and depression that is often presented in this population”. The focus on this study was to see how the Iranian Jews experienced anxiety and depression is common in this population. Using Strategic Family Therapy is suitable manner to intervene by practicing paradoxical interventions
- Keith and Zen were in love with each other for 12 years before they got married. As time passed by they began to feel that their relationship was becoming more like a prison than the wonderful life they imagined for themselves and promised each other. Either of them didn’t want to let go of each other as they were deeply in love but all they had now were fights and arguments. Seeing a Counselor seemed an option for them and after a few sessions of Couple therapy, they seemed to have worked on themselves personally which helped them get back their happy married life. Myths 1) All you need is love

the family direct the therapy session which was beneficial (). The ending phase really is for acknowledging the work that has been done and recognizing the use of new skills and information. Aponte really expresses how the family needs to stick with it and that both the mother and father need to work together in order for this family dynamic to work. This is when what was learned new can really be put into motion to help facilitate change. This is when Aponte really made the demand for work that wasn’t seen in the past.
The function is to change people response in therapy, to listen to the therapist and respect their role and last the let information about family be received (Sharf, 2012). Straightforward task where direction and suggestion are made by the therapist to the family to problems and paradox task for resistant family who do not change (Sharf, 2012).
Scientific evidence has shown that families that maintain certain discipline can help mediate the chaos and stress of addiction. This lack of parental attention seems to be more detrimental to girls and boys; hence, the need for family strengthening interventions that encourage parents to be more involved with their children. (Resnik, 1997) By educating parents with proper information, the parents are able to provide protective factors to their children. The goal of family-based prevention programs is to promote positive behaviour development in youth by instilling proper family relational skills and inculcating behaviours that increase parent/child
