I had the pleasure of interviewing Debbie Reed January 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm. Debbie Reed is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She believes that there are many approaches to solving daily issues. Christian counseling recognizes that each person has a spiritual dimensions with questions about our world and our circumstances that we do not understand and would like to explore further. She says that Christian counseling focuses on providing people, families and couples with techniques to overcome their difficulties. She believes that Christ has the power to heal people hurts and help individuals to overcome all those circumstances. She encourages her clients through prayer during their sessions to tap into their healing power to access the clients healing power as she Spirit leads them through this technique. The techniques that she uses with her clients are visual aids, such as with the children she uses a magic wand. She also uses a conversation ball with her couple sessions and homework assignments, which has been very effective with her clients. She also incorporates journal writing, drawing activities, and play therapy. She states that “Prayer can be a positive part of counseling”. She also has faith in the use of scriptures she believes that it can inspire development within the session. She also incorporates assignments in her sessions and has her clients look for particular scriptural topics, which help clients examine the bible for topics that relates to their issue which also boosts growth. The integration of spirituality and religious beliefs within any counselor’s theoretical frame has an impact on clients overall a therapeutic
