The research we conducted is about Behavioral & Cognitive-Behavioral Family Therapy. In our literature review we talk about 9 different articles that focus on the correlation between Behavior intervention and family therapy. The articles we selected refer to the difference between regular CBT Therapy and Cognitive behavioral family therapy. Behavioral and cognitive behavioral family therapy are common intervention techniques and models given to students and clinicians to help counsel families. CBFT combines cognitive and behavioral therapies that include an intensive empirical support for treating mood, anxiety and other major disorders. CBFT attempts to change the thought process and behaviors of the client and build a set of skills that helps the client understand their thoughts and feelings. (Chambless & Ollendick, 2001). Cognitive behavioral therapy can be thought of as a combination of psychotherapy and behavioral therapy. One reason cognitive behavioral family therapy differs from traditional family therapy is its foundations. Cognitive behavioral family therapy is supported by the cognitive model of psychopathology, the hierarchical structural organizational model.
