Illustrator
There are several different ways to obtain the training and education required to be an illustrator. A high school diploma is required to be an illustrator. The education after high school depends on your skill and talent. Most people get a bachelor’s or master’s degree in fine arts. Although, if your portfolio is exceptional, you may not need this amount of education. Different areas of illustration require different types of training. For instance, medical illustrators take pre-med classes along with pursuing a master’s degree anatomy. It will take a person approximately 4 to receive the education/training to be a basic illustrator. As far as skills and talents, they are extensive. To be an illustrator, it is important to be creative. You have to be able to market your skills professionally. A wild imagination is another good skill to have because you have to be able to create what your employers give you. Also, knowledge of computers is a helpful talent to go into this particular career due to the increasing use of graphics.

Freelance illustrators averaged a total income of $49,930 per year. In addition to the income, benefits are also included with some industries of this career.
