“If the average user spent as much time watching regular cable as he does Netflix, then he would consume around 160 hours of television commercials every year”(Andrews 2). Streaming channels will overtake cable because there are more movie and Tv show choices. Additionally, streaming will overtake because it is quicker to watch episodes and it cost cheaper. Streaming channels are said to bad for teens because it causes binge watching. Even though streaming channels can be used to binge watch, they will eventually replace standard television because streaming channels have more choices, they are quicker to watch, they are cheaper, and viewers do not have to wait a whole week in order to watch the next episode.

Cable also makes people pay more for pay-per- view and premium movie (Cringely 2).This means that people are paying lots of money to watch tv shows that only come on once a week. This matters because they are paying a lot of money but they can just buy one of the streaming channels and it is super cheap. Cringely goes on to say that,The future television is that they are approaching that the internet is equal to television, and the internet will be lower than per-view cost of national television (Cringely 3).
