Social Science is the scientific study of human society and social relationships. Over time, social science inquiry advances and evolves over time. According to Stuart Firestein, in his 2013 TED Talk, The Pursuit of Ignorance, “knowledge is ever expanding like a ripple on a pond.” For example, Nicholas A. Christakis (2012) suggests that discoveries in biology are making social scientists question all sorts of things, “…everything from the origin of free will, to collective expression and collective behavior, to the deep origins of basic human behaviors. The more we learn, the more questions we ask. The more questions we ask the more answers we receive, which only lead to more questions. Advances in technology have also lead to the advancement in social science inquiry. Social scientists are now able to study the hidden tribes of the Amazon Rain Forest from afar. Because of the creation and development of social media, we can study larger groups of people at one time such as by studying the interactions and information provided by individuals through avenues such as Facebook. Nicholas A. Christakis (2012), in the article A NEW KIND OF SOCIAL SCIENCE FOR THE 21st CENTURY, states there are three things that are going to change the way social science is going to advance in the 21st century. “…the biological hurricane, computational social science, and the rediscovery of experimentation…will provide a variety of discoveries and opportunities that offer tremendous prospect for improving the human condition.” Having this knowledge will help to understand interactions as simple as between two people to understanding interactions and relationships between two nations. This will help us to better understand the way humans think, feel, and
