Are tragic heroes noble? Do they have flaws? What ambition do they have for themselves? What fate is destined for them? Tragic heroes are noble, have very little flaws, and not clueless. The real question is: Is Caesar a tragic hero? Caesar’s characteristics do not match up with a tragic hero’s characteristics. Caesar is not noble, he has many flaws, he is clueless and arrogant, has ambition, and thinks he is invincible. Caesar said, “How foolish do your fears seem now, Calpurnia! I am ashamed that I yielded to them. Give me my robe for I will go” (II, ii, 1086-1088). This quote from Julius Caesar proves how clueless and arrogant Caesar is.
