Food Inc., the documentary by Robert Jenner, examines the problems and obscure practices in American food industry. As an international student, I was surprised to see variety of problems in food production and how American corporations in this industry play major role by promoting their products, preferring more money to a safety of humans, and the environment. Initially, my perception about major corporations in American food industry was that they are trying to help to create a sustainable environment and to bring healthy food to consumers by advocating several laws. I’ll try to maintain this new lifestyle till the end of the semester, and will try my best to sustain it next semester of my sophomore year at college. Although I’ve not made any plans yet, however, I’ll try to continue this sustainable challenge again in my hometown- Baku, Azerbaijan. Organic agriculture is quickly emerging as a driving force throughout Azerbaijan’s agricultural community. Therefore, packaged offerings first appeared in Azerbaijan in 2012, and are expected to help the packaged food sector’s double digit growth until at least 2017. In past, few people would pay attention to food labels before buying it, and would have been convinced by others as a stereotype in benefits of a certain product. Historically blessed with cornucopia of choices when it comes to fruits and vegetables, Azerbaijan, now, considered young, driven nation to develop organic farming and further promote organic food industry by eating and buying more organic food. More than that, according to the recent news, U.S companies also would like to help for the growth of this industry in Azerbaijan by investing to grow more organic products and taking advantage of rich variety of selection in Azerbaijani
