Japan, one of the most powerful city in Asia, import more than 60% of its own food. Moreover, Japan has done a great job on recycling wasted food, including enact a law toward recycling and manage the wasted food. On the other hand, China, who barely import food from other countries, wasted a tremendous amount of food. Beijing, the capital of China, wasted around 725.84 tons of food every day, and most of them are from restaurant. This number is only for 1 city .
