Gender
Discrimination based on gender is where people are stopped from doing activities because of their gender. Gender discrimination is mainly towards women. In some countries, such as Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to drive and can not get education. In many countries women earn less than men for doing the same job. Recently a women earns 79 cents for every dollar a man earns. One aspect that is improving is that, women are now getting more education and are earning more than in the past. One main negative aspect is that people are still getting rejected because of what gender they are even if they are highly qualified for a job.

In a few places people are not hired because of their cultural background. When they ask the manager why they didn’t get the job, the manager reply 's by saying that in the past they hired people with the same cultural background and they never do work so they didn’t get the job.
This an example of cultural background discrimination. The positive aspects are that many countries around the world are accepting all different cultural backgrounds. Also most people in diverse countries such as Australia and UK don’t think of less of people with different cultural backgrounds. Some negative aspects are that in some places, people are still getting treated badly because of their cultural backgrounds. This is happening because of many inaccurate stereotypes.

Age
Discrimination based on age is where people are not treated as well as another person because of how old they are. This can be seen with who gets hired for some jobs. Some old people have good job resumes but don’t get picked because they are too old.

Marital Status discrimination is where people are discriminated because they are married, remarried, divorced, separated, or a surviving spouse. Some people are not hired because they are single and are thought to distract the opposite gender. Another example is people are not hired to do a job because they are married and have children. People think that they will not be fully focused on work because they need to tend to their children.
One main negative aspect of marital status discrimination is that people are not given the opportunity to succeed in specific areas because they are single, married, divorced or separated. Also being discriminated in this way clouds their mind when doing work stopping them from doing their full potential. A positive aspect is that now almost all jobs hire people on qualifications not because of marital status. Now people are treated by the amount of work they do and not by what their marital status is. People are now often treated equally, whatever their marital status is.
