With the world's population boom, genetically modified foods are essential in many developing nations and are a necessity to feeding the world and gives the farmer a way to keep up with the this growing issue. The world is changing and it is becoming harder and harder for our crops to survive. Many things affect the crops such as being burned by heat, or being eaten by bugs. Agronomists have been working on this rising problem, and the solution is genetically modify the crop in order to make make it stronger and more resistant to heat and insects. The population will continue to grow and we will fall behind unless we are able to provide it more food. New plant hybrids can solve all these problems. Genetically modified foods are bigger and the crops are more hardier, this is the only way we can keep up the growing population.
Genetically modified crops are much hardier, potatoes is an perfect example, potatoes will be more prone to diseases, insects and pesticides which would leave them in a more vulnerable state. Farmers will lose their crops and in retaliation have to raise their prices to compensate for their losses. This could also lead to a shortage of crops, resulting in a price increase.
