Hippies became a raging movement of fashion and music. Hippies promoted a simpler lifestyle which caught people's attention and soon, young stars started copying their lingo and style. Music including new styles like the Beatles became very popular at this time because it broke the status quo and the original ideas of music along with everything else the hippies did at this time. Hippies as a whole helped promote new ideas and ways of thinking and influenced the uniqueness of various pop cultures to this day.
The 1990’s was arguably the greatest decade for the music scene. This decade encountered the rise of the best musical artists and bands of all time. The music from this time was highly thought of because most bands were bringing back the rock and roll sound everyone loved from the late 60’s and 70’s. The band that really brought this sound back for generations to come was Nirvana. The band Nirvana wasn 't just considered to be rock and roll, their music could fall under several off branches of rock and that 's what made them the best.
Blink-182 was unique among other bands because the band was interested in writing songs that appealed to their audience and their fans. They never cared to write songs that appealed to adults. The band never really took themselves all that seriously, their lyrics were not very hard to understand and there music could relate to any teeanager. They managed to gain a lot of popularity with their catchy music, and unruly appearance and I think that this is why the band gained so much popularity with youth around the world.
Punk Rock; an aggressive form of rock music in the 70s, rose a fire in America by isolating a great variety of the population. This impact was started by anguished youths who were reacting to the Cold War and the economic downfall of the United States. During this period, punk rock affected America by creating a vulgar and offensive way for youth to express themselves. Punk Rock was at its peak in the middle to late 70s, and it began partly as a reaction towards their surroundings. It is a subculture that can be characterised as being resistant and artistic.
Punk "started out as a music-based subculture” (LeBlanc 33). The evolution of Rock music began in the 1950’s with Rock and Roll. Rock and Roll introduced people like Elvis Presley. After Rock and Roll, Folk Rock was introduced including Neil Young. Then there was Blue’s Rock, which included BB King.

2000, the decade with some of the biggest trends some people don't remember anymore. From new music genres to some new pair of shoes everyone wanted and even a game that had kids going crazy for anime characters. 2000 a lot of trends people have forgotten over time, like Pokemon battling, Heelys and Silly Bands. Pokemon was one of the biggest fads in the 2000s decade.
The poor economy of the 1980s influenced new styles of music because musicians would sing about it. Many musicians used their music to express their points of view and opinions about the war, and peace among the people of the U.S (Woog pg. 79). Another thing that had a huge effect on music was drugs. They influenced wild, risqué rock and punk styles that took over the music industry. The birth of new genres of music that expanded the social acceptance was so successful they still influence music today (Gelipter).
In the Punk music, the old school punk music got depleted in the late 70's, but the Punk subculture moved forward and is still in existence. In the punk music, it was mainly composed of bands such as the Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, anti establishment themes and also Circle Jerks. The Punk music mainly have an impact on the gothic rock category
