Key elements of Human Resource Management within the FFC There are a number of different HRM activities undertaken within the FFC including Training and Development, Flexible Organisations, Job and Workplace Design and Performance and Reward (Appendix C) Training and Development Training focuses on the present and enables the FFC to face its immediate challenges by ensuring employees are taught the knowledge or skills needed in a short period of time; whereas development focuses on the future and is a continuous process compromised of multiple initiatives that enable professionals to develop in preparation for their next step or additional responsibility. The FFC prides itself on paying employees an hourly rate above the National Living Wage. When it comes to intrinsic rewards, employees are regularly thanked for a job well done. Additional perks include flexible working opportunities such as flexible working hours and shift swapping as well as a non-contributory pension and an additional 2 days’ holiday and lifetime beneficiary status for employees with over 5 years’ service.
