Importance of Army HR Human resources or HR employees receive poor treatment in many different businesses and work places. The negative view of HR personnel is bread into people from a young age before they even enter the professional field. On television, shows such as, The Office, the human resources personnel receive terrible treatment they get ridiculed and demeaned. The reason for this is they are the primary target for important issues that arise with pay, new jobs, benefits, awards, and much more. You combine this with the fact that they are a separate entity from the workforce; it makes them even more unlikeable. In the military, you can double the amount of animosity, stress, and hate due to the demand of the job both mentally and physically. The negative view that is fostered and rooted in people stick with them as they join the military. Not only do they have a negative view they see HR Soldiers as just, “paper pushers,” or, “not real soldiers.” Somewhere in all these distorted views, the importance of HR soldiers and functions are forgotten. Dedication, hard work, and the wiliness to change and train all make someone good at their profession. HR sergeants need to be at the top of their fields because usually they are alone or in a small group taking care of a large number of Soldiers in a unit. They are expected to be an expert in the HR field and must be ready to answer any questions a soldier may have.
