Harriet Tubman was an African American female Revolutionist who went through life with an incredible amount of strength and determination. While she was born into slavery, she knew she did not want her life to be that way. She was determined to escape slavery, but didn’t stop there. She went on to save hundreds of slaves through the Underground Railroad and paved the way for others to freedom. Harriet Tubman is well known for being a true inspiration. She helped to bring an end to slavery throughout the world. She was a leader throughout the Civil War, was a conductor on the Underground Railroad, and led people to freedom. All of these major events contributed to how successful Harriet Tubman’s trips were on the Underground Railroad and it made her more mature and experienced for events like the Civil War. When the Civil War started in 1861, Harriet Tubman wanted to find new ways to fight slavery and the Civil War gave her that.
