This is the correct option (a), to run a business they must provide a type of good or service. A good or service as a product can satisfy an individual’s demand of their needs or wants. The other three options are not correct as a business’ role is not to employ disadvantaged Australians. Businesses do not employ only Australians, this is too broad for any business. In saying that businesses do not need to employ any employees to run a business successfully, some businesses do not require employees therefore it is not a business’s main role to employ those disadvantaged Australians. If Helsung Electronics were in an establishing stage (option a), they would not be experiencing a slowdown in sales, instead Helsung would be having a slow start in sales. They could not have a decline in market shares as they would have just begun. A business will start will zero sales and no shares in the market. A decrease in sales and losing market shares is very uncommon for establishing businesses. A growth life cycle stage mentioned as b) would have Helsung experiencing an increase in sales and growth in their market shares. During growth sales should be rapidly increasing, a rise in shares can be seen throughout the growth stage of a business cycle. The third stage of a business cycle; maturity (option c). A plateau in sales should occur within a business in this stage. Customer and brand loyalty should assist the business with staying current and more enhanced than the competition. Post – maturity is a very fitting stage for Helsung. They may be experiencing a decline and decrease of shares and sales as they have hit maximum efficiency or production. New business competitors often can cause mature businesses to decline in many aspects as consumers view the new businesses as a change or something new. Commonly more recent businesses have the latest technology therefore producing better quality
