Henry Ford Health System Personal Statement

I am writing to express my interest into the Henry Ford Health System PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency. Henry Ford offers a unique experiential focused program, which provides a well-rounded exposure to establish a solid foundation for future development of caring competent pharmacists. In addition, this program has a great emphasis on patient care and making a daily impact. The diverse array of experience allows cultivating of my current interests such as cardiology, emergency medicine, and critical care while also providing the ability to explore new interests As a student, I sought out to create a valued experience that allowed me to challenge my limits. I sought this type of experience to make the most out of every day during my tenure. To accomplish this experience, I held multiple leadership positions and continuously volunteered in and out of the college of pharmacy. Through these clinical experiences, I found my passion for clinical pharmacy bloom. Whether it was answering questions from patients to developing the ideal patient care plan, I found myself becoming a true resource. This resourceful nature developed through my organizational work, where I had the privileged to mentor the development of future leaders and provide guidance and necessary knowledge for them to succeed. In addition, through my rotations being resourceful in a timely manner came to be an asset. While being able to pull information from literature is important, I learned that also being a supportive resource is just as important to patients and health care
