Parents of elementary school kids are paying about $463 per kid, on average, in extracurricular activities this year, while middle-school parents will pay just over $629. (White 1). Due to many budget cost most middle schools around the world are struggling to choose between having sport teams and fix all the problems around there school. Due they keep their sports programs going keep some kids happy or do they strive and try to make there school better.There is no right answer. If schools drop the sports programs and put all they money towards making the school a better place for kids to learn in. Another option is keep the sports and spend a little money to make the school a better place but then they will have to get rid of class. The last …show more content…

Nairs suggests that, “Engaging in sports reduces the amount of unsupervised free time on your hands and prevents boredom. This makes options such as smoking, drinking and drugs less appealing. ” But having free time is not always a bad thing by having free time students can hang out with friends or even wok on homework or study. Not only will playing a sport only take up so much free time it could take up all there free time. Meaning they can’t be kids and play outside before high school comes around.By having less free time the bad kids won’t have time to do drugs or even sell them. They will be busy trying to be better than they were the day before. meaning they may stop drugs or be a bad student. Even if they have some free time most people will find some way to sell or do drugs. Which won’t help with the fact that they will still be getting in trouble in their life.When you have less boredom in your life you can accomplish more things that maybe your will follow what you mom told you to do or even try and no better in school. By taking the one or two people who constantly doing bad things. You are forcing the good people to do things maybe they have are ready done by be being good.
