I grew up with two strong entrepreneurs as my parents so I know what it takes to run a successful stall or chain of stalls. I grew up in the cities where fashion plays a vital role in our day to day lives, so I know what is and isn’t fashionable. This will help me stay ahead of the curve and my competitors. Human resources: My mother (Vanessa Jacobs) will be my main investor, she in the owner of a large company “Sow Delicious” and is investing in Hipsters Are Us as part of her corporate social responsibility. My brother (Joel Jacobs) will be one of Hipsters Are Us’s first employees because I need someone who I can trust and rely on. My father (Deon Jacobs) will sponsor our transport costs until I am making enough money to be self sufficient. Available capital: For the first three weeks my mother (Vanessa Jacobs) will sponsor everything we need to keep the business running well. She will also sponsor us our first batch of stock. General management: Owner: As I will be the sole owner of Hipsters are us all the responsibility of the business is in my hands. Operations: Quality control: Each t-shirt will be inspected by hand and will be sent back is there are any problems with the product. Social responsibility plan: Stake holders: Customers, suppliers (t-shirt house in Cape Town), investor (Vanessa Jacobs), sponsor (Deon Jacobs), employee(Joel Jacobs). Social responsibility: As part of our social responsibility we would like to send our t-shirt designer to thembalethu high school once a month and have the children hand in their t-shirt designs, the best design will be manufactured and sold at our stall, the profits will go back to the young designer. This is our way of encouraging people to be well dressed (fashionable) in all walks of life.
