The history of red ribbon week Red Ribbon Week started after the brutal murder of a drug enforcement officer. It is to prevent people from using drugs. The DEA started the organization in 1985. DEA stands for drug enforcement administration.
Out of the four characteristics of National Honor Society, I felt the most important is, a character. I chose it because what Martin Luther King Jr. he “motivates his supporters not to judge individuals by their appearance, but rather by the substance of their character”. An individual character, ups and downs, can influence others to the nature of being incredible or losing confidence from attempting. Character distinguishes how your behavior shows the way you carry yourself every day and helps build fantastic relationships.
National Junior Honor Society An important factor about national junior honor society is being a leader. You have to be able to find solutions to problems and have good character and social skills at all time. Being a leader starts with failed attempts and the drive to succeed. With all these statements in mind I believe I have many of these characteristics and others.
When I first hear about National Honor Society in the beginning of my middle school years I knew that it was something I not only wanted to be a part of but that I was meant to be a part of. Growing up much of my time was spent around adults causing me to mature quickly and realize things others my age did not. I have always been driven and independent and accept noting but the best from myself especially when it comes to academics. I maintained straight A's all throughout my education up until high school. Having a 6.4 GPA freshman year and a 6.1 GPA at the beginning of junior year as well as being number 141 of 713 in my class.
Modern society uses morals to fuel the decisions of daily life. These moral standards set society apart from the uncivilized creatures of the past. Yet the people of the modern day think if a moral does not directly “hurt” another individual, it’s not imperative for them to fallow. Due to this lack of compliance schools set up honor codes, protecting individuals who are targets of these heinous acts, and punishing the offenders. Without an honor code in place, a school cannot take justice for the individuals at fault.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. The extensive number of words in the English language makes it nearly impossible for any one person to learn them all. The average person says anywhere from 13,000 to 20,000 words per day. But do we truly understand all of these words to their full meaning? The answer is most likely not. Take the word society, for example.
An honor code or honor system is a set of rules or principles governing a community based on a set of rules or ideals that define what constitutes honorable behavior within that community. An honor code implements a set code that specifies certain rules in their school. An honor code doesn’t benefit students trust in their school system. An honor code can end up making students engage in mistrust, create misuse of the code, and can cause students to be at odds with each other. When students are forced to commit to an honor code, every student isn’t going to be 100% honest.
The honor code or honor systems is known by educators across the nation. The honor code is used to keep students from making bad decisions educational wise, for example, cheating and plagiarism, therefore, the honor is used to keep students inside the behavioral codes that the honor code has to offer. The honor code is very controversial because of the codes that the system delivers. The system is very influential to the students and creates a behavioral impact that allows the students to follow by the codes and to have complete freedom. The process of the honor code should be maintained due to the honesty and pledges of the students to increase their success.
National Honor Society Junsu Yoon After I came to SJNMA, I had run into lots of troubles. As a new boy who came after the military training was over, I had to caught up with all the school function by myself. I could not imagine succeeding or even making stable life at the school. However, I have challenged myself throughout the year, pushing myself to be the better person tomorrow. There were few challenges I faced in this school such as academics, athletics, spiritual and character development, and the military traditions.
Honor’s classes also known as advanced placement classes, suck and before you say that “I am just jealous because I’m not in honors classes”. I used to be in two out of 3 honors classes, but I voluntarily left because I was getting too stressed out. Honors classes are supposed to be for students who are too smart for the normal classes in their grade, so they made honors classes to “Challenge them”. Most schools have three honors classes, Science, Math, and Reading, I think there is advanced music classes but I may be mistaken.
Colleges make it a point that they would rather see students “challenging” themselves then not. When the time comes where you actually have to take these classes, your teachers might give you lessons about putting learning the material over getting the good grades, but you shouldn’t listen to any of that banal hogwash. When it comes to getting into the college of your dreams, all you need to do is deliver the grades and chuck all other information except for specific, important information learned that will be discussed in the next section of this essay. As I have progressed through life my involvement in the community has had a growing importance. When I was younger I failed to see the value that volunteering held. Being admitted to The National Honor Society was the pinnacle moment where this view changed. I began my service as a sophomore in high school, and it rapidly opened my eyes. Soon I was seeing all the ways my help affected the people around
To students, sitting in such classes is very boring (Chaudhari, 2017). Another set of students say that they pay for the classes and they are the ones to decide which class to attend and not. Students believe that they are capable of gaining more knowledge even without going to classes. A study conducted recently reports that effort and intelligence are more important for grades and not the attendance. Students agree to this statement made as they feel that their focus and determination can get them high grades.
Don 't follow your friends, because they take a certain class it doesn 't benefit you in the long run. When picking classes, learn about the classes that they provide. In the field you want to pursue, and if you don 't know what field pick what interest you. There is a class called Advancement Via Individual Determination.
