Paris, France, the city of love, what girl hasn’t dreamed of traveling there? Well, this girl certainly has. Berlin, Germany is another enchanting city that has shaped our world into what it is today. This is another place I’ve been dying to explore. The Honors trip would not only give me the chance to visit these breathtaking cities, but also enhance my experience as an Honors student at the University of Arizona. For me this program was like love at first sight. Like I said, I have been dreaming about going to Paris ever since I was a little girl. As an introvert, I often struggle to make new friends. Going on this trip will force me to connect with other Honors students, just like myself. This will truly make me feel like I am a part of the Honors community. I also hope to gain a better understanding of other cultures and traditions while abroad. As an Honors student, I feel is it important to have a strong cultural understanding of others. Because I have never been out of the country before, my exposure to other cultures has been limited by borders. The Honors Trip will allow me to expand my horizons beyond just American culture, which is important to my understanding and acceptance of others. Leadership and independence are two important qualities for Honors Students to possess. By going on this trip, I hope to further develop both my leadership skills as well as my independence. As mentioned earlier, I am an introvert who struggles to get out of her own bubble. The Honors Experience is all about getting out of one’s bubble and not being afraid of change. This trip is my chance to pop that bubble and do something I would have usually never even considered, for fear of the unknown. The confidence I gain from this experience will encourage me to get more involved and speak up for myself, as well as others, a quality that every Honors wildcat should have.
