The Doctor of Death
Once, an intelligent doctor turned into a monster of torture and dissection! The Holocaust, a nightmare in real life, was an event where Hitler and his Nazi followers planned to kill all Jews and take over the world. This period in history is full of many gruesome horror stories, but someone specific stuck out: The Angel of Death. This murderer was a very important contribution to the Holocaust because his bone-chilling acts truly showed how devastating it was. To find out what evil this man's hands have done, one must learn about his lonely upbringing, the gruesome nightmares he's committed, and how he tried to escape his villainous past.

Mengele was being hunted down by many people, and in order to escape, he created a fake identity. “Despite being within the grasp of the Allies several times, Mengele reportedly made his way from a British internment hospital to Rome, where he secured false identity documentation, to South America” (Newsmakers). He used the strategy of hiding and blending in! A group of Nazi supporters worked together to hide Mengele from the law in South America. Mengele was not the only man who ran away here, but so did many other criminally charged Nazi’s. This runaway worked extremely well, and Mengele ended up hiding for 14 years until his death. “[The Americans] determined that a man named Gerhard, but believed to be Mengele, had died of a stroke while swimming in 1979” (“Auschwitz…”). His fake identity made it hard for the government to track him, and they only came closer to finding him when witnesses said they had seen Mengele. Testing the remains, they soon confirmed that the body found was the devil they were looking for. Mengele was caught using the name Gerhard in his dental records. The Angel of Death managed to flee the government for years without being caught!
