It all began on the first day in elementary school when I was in kindergarten. I made a lot of new friends and my teacher was very nice and helpful to the students. When I was in the third grade, I couldn’t learn the materials as well as the other students in the classroom. My learning style changed for me differently because I didn’t know how to read and write. In elementary school I couldn’t learn at the same pace as the other students. I would fall behind in all my assignments. When I would read out loud to the class when we had reading time, I couldn’t say and pronounce the word correctly. That made me realize that something was wrong with my learning style in the classroom. When I got home from school, I was to embarrass to tell my parents how my day was in school. My parents soon learned that something wasn’t right with my education. My parents took me to the doctor and I was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). When I finished all my regular classes, I would go to my special education class that do my homework in there because I didn’t understand the materials. I learned how to use a dictionary and a thesaurus. Using a dictionary and a thesaurus helped me in my writing skills to look and find different meaning of the word. As I got older, I started reading chapter books to improve in my reading skills. I would do a lot of thesaurus work in my special education class, such as looking up other words from the thesaurus and write a sentence with the
