In his article “Should College Athletes be Paid? Why, They Already Are”, Seth Davis is able to effectively argue why Branch’s argument in “The Shame of College Sports” is incorrect through his use of rhetorical strategies to the Sports Illustrated audience. Davis’ use of ethos addresses Branch’s trustworthiness in what he includes or does not include in his article. Through his use of logos Davis is able to point out why Branch’s logic does not add up. Finally, Davis’ accusatory tone asserts his opinion of Branch’s writing, which tears down why Branch’s own article is flawed.
Broken bones, concussions, and even death occurred, while playing football. The mounting injuries caused a division between the college heads and students. The college heads hated it.
There were less offensive and defensive designed plays. African-Americans were banned from the NFL in 1933 to 1945. Most teams were run dominant so they rarely threw the ball. As years went on the NFL improved in numerous ways. Players had an increase in physical size.
College Football In American Universities November 1961 marked the beginning of college football. Since then, the system has been improved while providing entertainment to millions of people. Steven Salberg writes in his piece to try to persuade his readers to agree with him because he firmly disagrees with the amount of funding that is spent, or rather "wasted." In his opinion, academics are now taking a much lower priority in American colleges because football is now more highly regarded and praised.
In the article titled “Why college football should be banned”, Buzz Bissinger argues that college football should be banned. I believe that Buzz Bissinger did not support his reasons with sufficient evidence. While he shows the reader multiple reasons why college football should be banned, he doesn’t cite any sources or show support for his claims. Bissinger shows some statistics, but does not show where he got the information from. First of all, Bissinger did not cite his sources when supporting his claim.

NCAA The college football playoff is set and there was hardly any controversy over who is in and who is out. Most people agree that the teams in are worthy and the teams that didn’t make it weren’t good enough. The current system of a committee selecting the teams has worked well enough. Their most controversial pick was likely taking Ohio State last year over Baylor or TCU.
Integration of College Sports In the United States, the integration of collegiate athletics constituted a critical turning point in the struggle against racial segregation, with several events influencing its development. Kenny Washington, Woody Strode, and Jackie Robinson's time at UCLA in the 1940s was one such occasion, and their athleticism in football there helped build the groundwork for future Black athletes in university settings (Spivey, 1983). The Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education in 1954 indirectly impacted college sports policy, which challenged racial segregation in education nationwide. As a result, many college programs began to admit Black students, so Black athletes made their way onto teams.
Do you like college football or the National Football League better? Playing professional sports and college sports are “two different games”. There are a couple big differences in each game. The NFL has different rules than college football. When playing receivers only need to have one foot in bounds for the pass to count as completed, but in college you need to have two feet in for it to count.
If American Football is an art, then its athletes paint with blood. This should surprise no one; the gridiron plays host to modernity’s most violent sport. In this unforgiving environment, it is all to common for former stars to flare out with career-ending injuries. As I kicked off my research on the National Football League (NFL), I intended to report on these injuries. With a premise on my mind and a paper in my sights, I headed to JumboSearch to begin my investigation.
The sport I chose to observe was college football. I decided to chose this sport because football is a sport my family enjoys to watch. Also I enjoy watching football more than any other sport because there is so much that could happen, in football many unexpecting plays could happen, and each game is different than the last one. The game I chose to watch was a college football game between the University of Notre Dame and the University of Miami that took place at the University of Miami on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The game started with Miami kicking the ball to Notre Dame.
