November 1961 marked the beginning of college football. Since then, the system has been improved while providing entertainment to millions of people. Steven Salberg writes in his piece to try to persuade his readers to agree with him because he firmly disagrees with the amount of funding that is spent, or rather "wasted." In his opinion, academics are now taking a much lower priority in American colleges because football is now more highly regarded and praised.
