WWII began due to the Germany invading Poland in September 1939 when Britain and France announced war on Germany.
The Treaty of Versailles was a cause of WWII it was more of an indirect cause but it still had a significant part of WWII. The Treaty of Versailles only held Germany responsible. Severe compensations brought upon by the treaty left Germany’s economy brutally damaged. This caused many of the German people to back the Nazis and the Communist.
