Advertising is a paid method of promoting ideas, goods or services by companies and businesses.
Advertisement involves the business to communicate a message to their target audience, who they are targeting their product or service to, therefore to encourage them to purchase the product or service. Coca- Cola uses advertisement to promote their products and they use many different forms of advertisements. This includes methods such as Televised advertisement, advertisement on magazines, internet, newspapers, social media, cinema, radio and billboards. John Lewis uses advertisement to promote their brands image by using methods of televised advertisement, billboard, radio, social media, and newspaper, cinemas and on the internet.

Public Relations are there to make sure that there is a shared understanding between the organisation and its public. Coca-Cola uses PR by putting thousands of names on the bottles they supply their product in. This allows them to get a mutual understanding between them and the public by engaging them personally. John Lewis uses PR as they do not go for the normal Christmas advertisement as they make it special.
