Most students reside in areas that are congested and have to learn about large classroom sizes that decrease the amount of time a teacher can dedicate to each student. The student to teacher ratio is affected by large and small classroom sizes. The research question that arises with this is whether classroom size affects the propensity of a student in affluent and poor neighborhoods. What is the fine line between resources available to a group of students and the student to teacher ratio? This study conducted this survey by monitoring student performance in a frequently overcrowded classroom. What would be the results of students who are in a crowded classroom and how does their desk's proximity to the front of a class correlate with their performance. Different scenarios produce different consequences. Teacher expertise and teacher-student ratio are factors that contribute to optimizing instruction for students at risk of developing difficulties in literacy learning (McEneaney, Lose, & Schwartz, 2011).
