INTRODUCTION: Research and exploration into the effects that daily adequate and inadequate sleep have on the mind and body, has been an interesting topic. One that is very fascinating to many psychologists and scientists. Many experiments have been done to see the affects sleep has on all aspects of our lives.

Getting the proper amount of sleep helps to insure that you do not have severe medical problems in the long run. Some people do not think much of the negative effects sleeping five hours or less daily has on the body, but slowly and surely, problems will begin to occur.

There is one aspect that not many people know can be affected by lack of sleep and that is relationships. Lack of sleep can affect all different types of relationships such as friendships, relationships with your family, and even intimate partner relationships. The experiment was for the couples to track their sleep and how their day went while focusing on if they felt appreciated by their significant other that day or not. They also conducted another experiment in which couples had to perform problem-solving tasks together.
