There are over 6,500 languages in this world today! Have u ever wondered about a particular
language, how to learn it, and what you can do after you have learned the language? The
language that is going to be discussed is American Sign Language.

What is American sign language? American Sign Language otherwise known as (ASL) is the
language of the American Deaf community. The first school that was officially for deaf and hard
of hearing was in Hartford, in 1817 named Gallaudet University. Many countries around the world

Another reason is that they can express who they are and their own unique language.
What does it take to learn American Sign Language? A person I interviewed online said it
doesn’t take much to learn the language; all you need is to be decent at English, with spelling
words, and being able to diagram sentences. Then, from there it is just learning the language.
Just like any other language, it takes time and dedication. Some places you can learn it are in
college, take a college class online, and sometimes you can learn the language on your own. What are some things you can do after learning the language?
Another person i interviewed said that you don’t always need a degree in order to get a
Job. You can serve God and go into ministries with your skill. If you have a good reputation you can get a court job where you translate what the judge and the interviewers are saying. You can
work one- on-one with a child and follow them around the school and be a translator in all or one
