Home Shopping Network, Incorporated, (HSNi) is a $3.5 billion interactive multichannel retailer with strong direct-to-consumer expertise among its two operating segments, HSN and Cornerstone (HSNi, 2018). HSN began broadcasting into homes in 1981, introducing an extremely unique retail shopping experience to its consumers. There are many different brick and mortar retail stores selling clothing, home goods, facial skin care, jewelry, electronics, lawn and garden supplies, and home furnishings. • 2002 – In only 4 hours, internationally acclaimed guitar virtuoso Esteban generated almost $1 million in sales, breaking HSN's previous same-day music sales record of $678,000 set in 1999. • 2003 – HSN finalized a deal with global shipping giant United Parcel Post (UPS) to deliver packages to HSN's millions of customers resulting in faster shipping and improved customer service. HSN.com was revamped to feature new graphics, improved navigational tools and greater interaction with HSN TV. • 2004 – HSN gains market share from main competitor QVC for six consecutive quarters. Jn July of 2017, it was announced that Liberty Interactive, the parent company for QVC and Zulily, would acquire full ownership of HSNi, which included the Cornerstone Brands the following December. Liberty Interactive Corporation took full ownership of QVC in 2017 when it acquired the remaining 62% of the company it did not already own and would soon purchase the controlling interest in HSNi (About HSNi, 2018). In December 2017, HSNi officially became a part of Liberty Interactive (renamed Qurate Retail Group after the acquisition was completed) (Qurate Retail Group, 2018). On March 1, 2018, Liberty Interactive Corporation announced its company name would change to Qurate Retail Group once the company completed a split-off of GCI Liberty (Qurate Retail Group, 2018).
