I’ve always wanted to become a Nurse because I believe I was meant to be a healer. All throughout my life I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of diagnosis in my family. The ones that had a direct effect on me was drug addiction and mental health disorders. Seeing my loved ones deteriorate right in front of me pushed me into the Nursing career. I want to promote prominent health changes in my community. I want the access and knowledge needed to be able to educate the people around me. Seeing bi-polar disorder and addiction first hand let me a see a side of human nature no one wants to experience. I believe I have a deep understanding in the complexity of human nature. I have seen people in their most vulnerable and detrimental states. Having this different outlook on health will prove useful in the dynamic nursing practice. …show more content…

Having this opportunity before going out into the real world will give me the experience, skills, and most of all a great relationship with a registered nurse. A person who can act as a mentor to guide me to a successful nursing career. Having this one-on-one relationship will allow open communication and trust between each other. This can make learning extremely beneficial. I could feel comfortable and assured that my questions and concerns will be addressed with confidence.

The nurse will also be able to provide continuous feedback on everything I do. Having someone who is always there by my side teaching me, interacting with me, and communicating with me, is something every nursing student wishes.
