In order to complete the 4 hours required for my religion ISP, I chose to volunteer with the Goodwill Charity of Ontario. Founded in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J. Helms, Goodwill is a non-profit organization with roots in the US, Canada, and 14 other countries. For over 100 years, Goodwill has provided care for the underprivileged and disabled through many initiatives such as food drives, donation drop offs, and community outreach. As previously stated, Goodwill was founded in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J. Helms of the Morgan Methodist church in Boston.

Organizations that operate for-profit healthcare argue that they offer patients more options and flexibility. On the other hand, nonprofits claim to provide a superior patient experience and are more cost-effective. In keeping with their charitable mission and community focus, nonprofit hospitals are often affiliated with a particular religious denomination. For-profit hospitals are either owned by investors or shareholders of a publicly-traded company. For-profit healthcare entities are more likely to prioritize treatments that generate higher profits, such as open-heart surgeries.
You have goals set of all of us to become something important. To make a change to the world.
The history of one of today’s greatest non-profit organizations, Johns Hopkins Hospital, starts first with one humble entrepreneur who dreamed of a better life for people all across the globe. According to an article written by Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins intentions for his hospital were as follows; “…to create a university that was dedicated to advanced learning and scientific research, and to establish a hospital that would administer the finest patient care…to care for the indigent sick of this city and its environs, with regard to sex, age, or color, who may require surgical or medical treatment, and who can be received into the hospital without peril to the other inmates, and the poor of this city and state, of all races, who
Businesses become successful by having a strategy and some type of leadership in place. No business can be profitable or have the competitive advantage without a strategy in place. Leadership is also important because without them training the employees and teaching the importance of the mission and vision for the business, the businesses success will not be at its greatest. This report will outline the strategy and leadership plan for a nonprofit food bank organization.
3. Figure out what thoughts and feelings I should share and with whom. 4. Figure out what goals and failures I feel I should share and in what relationships. Goal Assessment Method: I will know I have achieved my goal when I feel and other people I have relationships feel that I have opened up to them and that I have developed closer
Currently, nonprofit organizations are the fastest growing organization in the World. They only date back to the 1970s. They can range from being owned by one person and little products going out, to them being multibillion dollar foundations. Most nonprofit organizations provide goods and services like charitable, educational, and religious ones (Hall par. 3). Services are meant to meet the needs of the people and help the surrounding communities like providing food, helping animals, and protecting the environment (Ingram par.
For the early Americans, Christianity was a major influence on their everyday lifestyle. They used the Bible as their guide for living, worshiping and working. They believed that their deep devotion to God and acts of faith would keep them on good terms with God. In A Model of Christian Charity we see some of the ways to stay on good terms; Winthrop states, “to provide for our posterity, is to follow the counsel of Micah: to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.” In contrast when looking at Of Plymouth Plantation we see that there “was a proud and very profane young man” on board the Mayflower who “would always be contemning the poor people in their sickness and cursing them daily with grievous execrations.”
This is very helpful to those who cannot pay but also helpful to the hospitals because they can get more government grants and funding for better technology. Here locally in Oregon those hospitals would be; Adventist Medical Center, Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center, Portland VA Hospital, Providence Hospitals, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Doernbecher Foundation. These hospitals help so many people that need help especially those children whom need specialized care. Most veterans go to the Providence Hospital, or Portland VA hospital.
I feel as though these goals can be easily achieved if I apply myself and ask for

Since that time the Salvation Army has expanded its services by helping the communities by providing temporary housing and shelter to families, single men and women, partnering with Ft.
The Awareness tactic can be a very a effective way for ENGO'S to not only pressure corporations and governments to action, but to gather the public and teach them about climate change as well as show them what's really going on. Some organisations use media to create public awareness about climate change issues simply to get people to change some of their desires in order to protect the environment. Many types of cars emit high amounts of gas emissions that are polluting the air as well as contributing to climate change. In 2005, Greenpeace United Kingdom organisation wanted to make S.U.V drivers and all citizens aware of the mass amount of polluting gas that SUV's emit (Turner, 2007, p. 107).
