To prepare to lead a high-performing team, managers must first understand what it takes to function as a leader of a team that they wish to build. When you have high performance team vs. low performing team you have to identify the situation difficulties the managers may be having in establishing self-directed, high-performing teams. In management there are different leadership styles to manage your team; some managers may not provide general directions for the team as well as giving the team vision of being self-directed. This includes setting goals and how to obtain these goals. So therefore this will result in some managers struggling in establishing self-directed high performing teams.
